"You want to write a living will. Hi, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to address, how do I write a living will? Well, of course, this is going to vary from state to state but, generally, each state has a living will form which you can obtain from your particular state's health department, a local hospital, doctor or a local agency that deals with aging. Now, you want to be sure when you get the form that you read it completely before you start completing it and that you read each question carefully and complete it to the best of your ability. You want to be able to differentiate between life prolonging procedures and those that alleviate pain, because there is a difference. You may want to also consult with your doctor to discuss specific procedures that either prolong life or alleviate pain so that you can be as specific as possible. You also want to make sure you comply with whatever your state's laws are with regard to how it is witnessed. An improperly witnessed living will is just that, it's of no consequence. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching."
