Series Summary

Social expectations of behavior at the dinner table vary among different areas of the world and among different levels of socioeconomic status. Table etiquette is the code that governs social behaviors at the dining table. The “cultural norm” is another way to define the word “etiquette.” Living up to a society’s definition of the social standard can be daunting at times. There are many rules and regulations for various situations, including greeting one another, dining together, interacting together, dating and conversing with one another. Violating these social codes can lead to public disgrace, hurt feelings, feuds, misunderstandings and, in some cases, murderous rage. In this free video series, an event coordinator provides tips on social etiquette, including advice on how to greet people. Discover how to compliment people, how to introduce yourself and how to act at a funeral. Learn about handshaking etiquette, responding to written invitations and setting a table correctly. Improve social etiquette and manners by following these guidelines.

"Addressing of women with different titles, professional titles can be a little bit confusing. Well, let's take a look at how we can work with that. Hi, I'm Hazely Lopez, from Hazely Academy of Refinement and Modeling and I'm here to tell you how to address a married female doctor. Well, the fact that she's married doesn't really have a much, much party in to how you are going to be calling her. It's really going to be using her title in front of her name. So it's going to be Doctor Jones, Doctor Mary Jones or something like that. Always remember that you even if you are friends with her, when you are around other people you want to make sure that you are using her title. It is really appropriate to always present her to others using her title. When you are actually doing a correspondence to them, addressing a correspondence, you're basically going to be using Doctor Mary Jones. If she is married and the husband is not a doctor, you're going to be using Doctor Mary Jones and Mister Adam Jones. When both of them are doctors there are two ways you can address a correspondence, you can do Doctor Mary Jones and Doctor William Jones and then you can also do the Doctor Jones. It's really easy to address a female doctor and you just have to use their name, their title and that's it. I'm Hazely Lopez from Hazely Academy of Refinement and Modeling and this is how you address a married female doctor."
