"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to copy text from an Adobe PDF document. Let's go to the computer and open up a PDF file. I have here a file called portfolio.pdf. This is my own professional portfolio and it has a lot of text in it. By default, when you open up Adobe, its going to have a tool selected that is the hand tool. Now the hand allows you to click and drag the mouse and that allows you to kind of scroll the window. But what we're wanting to do is use the select tool to grab some of this text and copy it. So go up to the very top and under tools, say select and zoom and just choose the select tool. Now as we move our mouse over the text, it turns into the little cursor icon that we're used to seeing in a regular word processing program. Just click somewhere, grab that text and we're going to go to edit and say copy. If I open up some sort of a text editing program, such as Word, I can then just like any other normal text that I would have copied, simply right-click and paste. Its that easy to copy text out of an Adobe document. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to copy text from an Adobe PDF."
