"Hi, I'm Patti German and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist here in New York City. In this clip we are going to talk about when to get or seek marriage counseling. I think when your relationship reaches a point where you really can't talk to each other any more or there's been an affair or a problem, a deeper problem or it could even be a death of a loved one. It's important to seek marriage counseling to help understand what each other is going through. And finding a safe haven a safe room to be able to talk openly and understand what the fear is, what the anger is, you know what is happening in your relationship, to cause distance and not feeling safe and feeling protected that marriage counseling can help understand the deeper issues underneath what makes two people begin to feel very separate and distant from each other.
