"Hi I'm Patti German and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here in New York City. In this clip we are going to talk about how to maintain a really good relationship. I think the best way to maintain a really good relationship is to understand the value of your partner and to listen to what he or she has to say. Talking and listening are really what maintains a good relationship and understand and not putting judgment on what each other says. I think that one of the biggest problems in a relationship is feeling criticized and judged that you are not being heard so to maintain a really good relationship is about knowing to open up conversation and talking and understanding what it means to someone, to your partner when they are talking about a friend, or shopping, or work, or whatever without forming a judgment or a criticism. Again this is Patti German in New York City."
