"Hi, I'm Patti German and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist here in New York City. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to mend a broken heart. I think the most important part of mending a broken part if it's your own, is to not be too hard on yourself, and to learn to be, treat yourself well and understand on some level what went wrong in the relationship and how you can prepare yourself and understand more about yourself so that you can go on in another relationship eventually. I think the most important part of mending a broken heart is time, and not forcing yourself to do things that you're not ready to do. And to be good to yourself and treat yourself with kindness and tenderness and you know, understand that this is part of life. And there's an old expression, it's better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all. So, it's important to just be good to yourself and let the healing take place on its own. This is Patti German in New York City."
