"Hi, I'm Patti German and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist here in New York City. In this clip we're going to talk about how to move beyond a relationship that has just ended. Well I think the most important thing is to talk about your feelings and not to bury it and just get into another relationship. I think this is an opportunity to understand yourself and what happened in the relationship because patterns repeat and if you don't understand your contribution to the relationship not working, 9 out of 10 times it's going to repeat itself again in a new relationship. This might be a time to seek some professional help to understand yourself and to have the luxury to explore what, who you are and how you interact and what happens to you around another person. It doesn't have to be a devastation, it can be the opportunity of a lifetime to begin to understand yourself and how you relate to others, what's important to you and how to continue going forward. This is Patti German in New York City."
