"Hi, I'm Patti German and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist here in New York City. In this clip we're going to talk about how to enjoy being single. I think it's important if you're single, to develop an opportunity to get to know yourself and develop a relationship with yourself so that you enjoy that you can feel proud of, that you can then bring to another relationship. In order to be in a good relationship with someone else, you have to have a relationship with yourself and I think being single is an opportunity in life to be with yourself to know yourself to understand yourself and to find joy and pleasure about yourself. Because that's what you can then take to a relationship. Other people can't make you happy. If you're happy with yourself, you will be able to get into a relationship that will make you happy or you'll know immediately if the relationship is not going to be one that allows you to be happy. This is Patti German in New York City."
