A great way that you can make money right from your home is to use the sales revenue model. In this model you sell a product or service on your website. You could see for example, electronics, clothes, books, CD's, or just about anything that you can find in a traditional retailer. In the past having a store required a considerable amount of investment to pay for rent, employees, and inventory. Today you can create your own on line store for just a few dollars or sometimes even for free. The most important consideration in this revenue model is to choose the category of articles that you will sell. You can buy just about anything on line these days from T-shirts to houses but it is an entirely different thing to ship a product. Imagine trying to sell a car to someone in Florida when you live in New York. Try to sell things that are not commonly found in local stores, that are easy and cheap to ship and that do not require a guarantee. A great example of a category of products to sell on line is memorabilia. A single baseball card can cost hundreds of dollars though shipping is practically free if you send it by standard mail and you do not need to provide a guarantee. If the cost of shipping is greater or significant relative to the price of the product it is unlikely that your users will pay for it. For example if you sell a $5 book and the shipping charge is $10 your potential customers would prefer to look for the book at a local store even if it is more expensive because they won't want to pay for shipping. If you want to sell a product on line you could choose between creating your own on line store. Paying a monthly fee for a service provides a custom store for you or use a commission based service where you pay a percentage of each sale. You need to carefully study the benefits of using each. Most beginners prefer to use a service where they pay a commission per sale. An example of such a service is ebay.com website where you can freely post your products for sale.
