"Hello my name is Luis Estrada and I am a software developer. In this video we will talk about how to make money with online business opportunities. We will mention some of the characteristics that ad networks provide for web masters and advertisers. If you are a web master then you do not need to worry about selling your entire inventory. Remember that your inventory size is constantly fluctuating so if for example you predict that your inventory size for the next month will be 10,000 banners then you see those 10,000 banners to one or more advertisers. But if for any reason in that particular month you had many more visitors than you had anticipated and in turn you displayed 100,000 banners then you only profit from 10% of your actual inventory. On the other hand if you made an agreement to display 100,000 banners for a certain month and it turns out that in that period you only display 10,000 banners then you will have a problem with your advertiser because you didn't deliver as promised. If you use an ad network to sell your inventory, then you do not have to worry about this. If at any given month you displayed only a few hundred banners the ad network pays you for that. On the other hand if the next month you displayed millions of ads the ad network will pay you for each and every one of them. Given the world wide reach of the web your visitors and advertisers could come from any part of the world. If you live in California and you have an advertiser willing to invest just a few dollars on advertising on your website but he lives in Australia for example how is he going to pay you? He would have to make a wire transfer to your account, a process that could add a fee and it would most likely take a few days to clear. If the same advertiser found another website that would accept instant payments like credit card or Paypal then it is very likely that he would prefer to advertise on that site because it would be faster to start their publicity campaigns. If you decided to implement credit card payment functionalities then you would have to pay for an experienced web developer and a security analyst that would insure that your advertiser's data is safely guarded. This can be expensive. In the information age it is crucial activity to gather data on how your visitors use your websites. You should be able to answer the following questions, how are you going to keep track on the activity on your website? How many visitors did you have each day? How many pages did they view? What country did they come from? How many banners did they click on? How many times did you display each banner? How did you generate reports that your advertisers can analyze? How will your advertisers measure the success of advertising on your website? All of these questions are difficult to answer if you do not have experience in developing dynamic websites and data bases. An ad network gathers this data and more for you.
