"Hi, my name is Stacie Royer, and I'm a career specialist from Austin, Texas. I'm going to talk to you today about how to become a social worker. This is a very fun and rewarding career. The first thing that you'll need to do is obtain your bachelor's degree in social work, and then continue your education to receive a master's degree in social work. You'll also have to receive about 900 clinical hours supervised in the field. And then you'll move on to working for about two years underneath a licensed social worker before you can take the state exam. Once you've completed that, and then you can take the state exam and receive a license of your own. Like I said, it's very fun and rewarding, but it's also...it takes a long time to get there. So just stay positive and keep your spirits up, and you'll eventually get there."
