"Hi my name is Stacie Royer and I'm a career specialist from Austin, Texas. I'm going to talk to you today about becoming a Obstetrician and or Gynecologist. The first thing that you'll need to know is that you love working with patients. You'll also need to obtain an undergraduate degree in preferably pre-medicine. This will provide you with the necessary biology, chemistry, and health courses that you'll need to allow yourself to get into medical school. At that point you'll need to take the medical school entrance exam. Once you realize that you've passed that then you'll need to apply and get accepted into the medical school of your choice. From that point you will obtain a four year medical degree which is a doctorate degree. And then once you've obtained that degree then you can apply for the residency program which is the OBGYN residency program and that is for another four years. Once you've completed that four year time period then you can become a licensed OBGYN."
