How to Become a Bookkeeper

"Hi, my name is Stacie Royer and I'm a Career Specialist from Austin, Texas. I'm going to talk to you today about how to become a Bookkeeper. To become a Bookkeeper, you'll need to receive your high school diploma, but then you'll also need to take some classes in math, accounting, finance, and even maybe some computer courses to help you prepare for the different software programs that you'll be working with. To do this, you can take a look at the high school that you went to school at for those types of classes, or even check out your local junior college. You'll also receive, in most cases, on the job training from the company that you receive a job from. But if you decide that this is something that you'd like to do, you can pursue your education in possibly even accounting, and you can receive that through a two year or four year degree from your local junior college, career college or even local university."
