How to Keep Morale Up in the Work Place

One of the best things that you can do to keep morale up is for you, as a manager, to have a good attitude. Appreciate people. Let them know that you appreciate the work that they do. Simple things: pizza party every now and then. Surprise them. Also, there are a number of different types of rewards that cost little or nothing. Certificates for outstanding employees. Give the employee of the month their own parking space right up front. A plaque where you actually will list by month the employee of the month. People love recognition. It does not have to cost a lot, but what you want to do is let them know that you appreciate them. Why do we keep morale up? Because it equals productivity.
