"You're the new person on the job and how you approach that may determine how long you last. I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems located in St. Petersburg, Florida and telling you the best way to approach being the new hire on the job. One of the things we always caution people about is being overly friendly or being standoffish. Realize that people don't know you and you don't know them so don't choose sides right away. The other thing you want to do is be cognizant of your dress, take a look around you, what is the office procedure. Don't over dress and especially don't under dress. Also what is the personality and the culture of the company? Do people normally pretty much stay at their desk and do their work? Do they go to lunch together? Do they bring their lunch? The first thing you want to do for that first 90 days is not be a stand out. Don't try to be a show off. Don't try to do too much just get your job done, keep your head down and make sure that you get solidified and understand the culture of the company. My name is Gloria Campbell, I'm with Advantage Training Systems giving you some survival ideas for being the new employee in an office."
