"In today's environment, all of us sooner or later will have to deal with being laid off. My name is Gloria Campbell. I'm with Advantage Training Systems located in Saint Petersburg, Florida, giving you some ideas on how to cope with being laid off. The first thing I'm going to tell you is, don't panic. It's happened to all of us. It's happened to me three times as a matter of fact. The second to remember is that It's not any different. They tell you that being laid off from a company or from a job is pretty much like going through the grieving process. So, you know at first you're going to be just amazed that it happened. And then you're going to go through some other fazes and then you're going to be angry and then finally you're going to come to accept it. Give yourself a little time to get back in to the game. But there's some things that you can also be doing. Number one, let everyone you know, know that you're looking for a job. You can always let them know that the company was downsized and that things were changing. But the best way to get another job is through someone who knows someone at another location. And so, let people know immediately. Start working on updating that resume because you're going to have to get that up to date and ready to go out if you're going to get the new job. And remember it's happened to all of us. My name is Gloria Campbell. I'm with Advantage Training Systems located in Saint Petersburg, Florida giving you the best way to cope with a lay off."
