"Hi, this is Laura Turner, and today I'm going to talk with you about how to brainstorm for play ideas. You always want to be writing on a play, if you're a playwright. So you want to have new ideas coming in. Sometimes it's difficult to figure out something that you want to write about. So what you should do in my estimation is actually take experiences from your own life. Write down everything that you think of in your life that has been dramatic. Or has been painful. Or has been very happy. Then decide which of those you can actually translate into creating a play from your own experience. Next, write down everything that you are passionate about. If you're going to be brainstorming you're going to writing down all sorts of things just to get your juices flowing. So write down everything that you're passionate about in your life, that you know that you can write a play about. And then pick out something that is sort of calling to you at that moment. Also write down everything that makes you angry about your life and about the world. And how you think you could change those things. Plays are about inciting people to change. And communicating directly with people. So think about why you need to write a play about the certain thing that you're picking from you list of passionate things. And that's just some ideas for brainstorming for a play."
