"Hi, this is Laura Turner and today we're going to talk about how to dress for a first date. First of all you want to think about dressing for the occasion. Are you going to be going to a picnic out on the lawn, are you going to be going to a movie or are you going to be going to a nice restaurant? So dress appropriately for the evening. Next, if you're a girl or I guess if you're a guy and you're prone to getting cold, take something to cover up in transitional weather. You know, take a little sweater with you, especially ever if you're going to the movies, I often find myself getting really cold in the movie theaters in the summer and that probably stands for girls and guys both. And it's really not enjoyable to be sitting in a freezing movie theater watching a movie that's you know, sort of o.k. with your first date. So take something with you so that you don't freeze. Next, wear comfortable shoes if you're going to be walking. So know kind of beforehand what you're going to be doing. You know if the other person springs on you, hey, let's go walk downtown and explore. Say, o.k., but I'm wearing my high heels because I didn't know. You know, you can't really help that. If you wanted to you could take a change of shoes, but that might be a little too over the top. So just think about what kind of shoes you're going to be wearing and if you really even need to wear your high heels. Next, dress appropriately to reflect your style and your personality. Don't try to overdo it because dating and the first date is sort of a testing ground to see if you're compatible with the other person. So ideally that person should like you for who you are and not for who you're trying to be. And that's my advice on how to dress on a first date."
