"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to use Outlook to check Gmail. Let's begin by clicking on the start button and then clicking on control panel. Inside the control panel, find the mail button, and click on under profiles, show profiles. Now what we're going to do is add a new profile for Gmail. Click on add and then the profile name, just type Gmail, say okay. The next thing it's going to do is bring up the configuration options for our new profile. Let's click manually configure server settings and say next. Now what we're going to do is connect to an Internet email, so say next. This brings up the configuration options. Begin by filling out this form. I'm going to type in my name and my email address. Now Gmail uses the account type of imap to download email. For the incoming mail server type imap.gmail.com. For the outgoing server type smtp.gmail.com. For the log on information do your entire email address as the user name and type in your Gmail password. Now over here on the right, let's click on more settings, click the outgoing folder tab or outgoing server and let's hit this check box, my outgoing server requires authentication, click advanced. Now under incoming server we need to change the port number that it uses to port 993. To use the following type of incripted select SSF. For the outgoing server we need to use port 587 and using the following type of incripted connection of TLS. Now we have to replace that 587 because when you change it to TLS it cleared out what it typed here. So let's say that by clicking okay, click next and let's click finish. Now we have two profiles. Down here at the very bottom of this profile screen click prompt for profile to be used and say apply. Now let's close out of these and open up Outlook. It's now connected to my Gmail and if click on the inbox, I will see my Gmail inbox right here. It's that easy to connect Outlook to your Gmail."
