"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you a pc running smoothly. Let's begin by clicking on the start button and going up to computer. This opens up a list of drives that are in your computer. One thing that you can do to make your computer run smoothly is every now and then, go to this screen, right click on your c drive, go to properties, click on the tools tab and we will run what's called a defragment. Under defragmentation, click on defragment now. This brings up the disk defragmenter. Now you have the option in Vista of running this on a schedule. By default, it will go on 1 am every Wednesday and it will skip it if it misses it. It's a good idea to keep that checked and to set it on a schedule for when you're not really going to be using your pc a lot. You can also click on this button that says defragment now to have a defragment your drive in the background. That will clean up your drive a little bit and make it run smoother. Another tip is to click on the start button and go to control panel. Find in this list programs and features and double click on it. This brings up a list of all the programs that you have installed on your computer. As you can see, I have quite a few. If there's a program listed here that you know you don't need anymore or you could, or you're willing to get rid of it, just click on it, and its very top click uninstall, that will remove the program from your computer. Don't remove anything unless you know what it is. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to keep your computer running smoothly."
