"Hi, I'm Laura from YoungWritersworshops.com. I'm going to talk about how to start a writing business. As a writer, you may know a lot about writing and not so much about business. So it's important to get a little bit of outside help. When you're planning to start a business. You may find a local organization that teaches classes about running a small business. Or just do a little bit of research, find a book or some trainings. Than help you know a little bit more of the fundamentals of business. You may depending on your State, you may need to register with a Secretary Of State. Become a sole proprietorship or an LLC. Those are things to kind of, research a little bit. In fact, figure out what's best for your business. Now the most important part about having your writing business is marketing yourself. And finding clients who are going to be interested in the work that you do. You'll want to have a logo and some sort of visual representation for your business. And website is a great way to also promote your business. So those are some of things you can do to start setting up your business presence. Once you have all of those things established. It's all about making connections, reaching out to people. Responding to requests for proposals. Or finding the people who are looking to hire a writer. And marketing your business to those people. The more local organizations you can be involved in. You could join Local Chamber of Commerce or Womens' organizations. Or mens' groups that maybe places where you can meet potential clients. Most of all, you need to start getting some work out there. Even if it's not quite the rate that you want, at first. It's good to get started and get your work out there. And start really showing people what you can do. So those are some ways that you can start a writing business ."
