"Hi, I'm Gretchen Rivas, with Relax to the Max Massage Therapy, and today, we're going to learn how to massage the neck and shoulders. When you're working on the neck and shoulder area, what you want to do, is make sure that you oil them up a little bit, and I already have enough oil on right now, that we don't want to add any more, so you don't want to add so much oil, that you're going to be sliding off the client. You want to have a nice little bit of a glide. When you're working around the shoulder area, you want to come up through, and up through the shoulders, into the neck. You can make a fist, and work around the neck area, through here. It kind of gives them release in the shoulders and the neck area, at the same time. One thing that feels really good, is when you come around the shoulder blade, and then up through the neck, at the same time, in a nice soothing, circular, stroking motion, and also get in here around the shoulder blade, between the spine, and that shoulder blade bone. People carry a lot of tension in there ,so you can work through that, and also on top of the scapula, you can rub that, and work in that area through there. Press through here, and that will often give a lot of release, and relief for that neck and shoulder area, so that's how we learn to massage the neck and shoulders."
