"Hi this is Laura Turner and today I'm going to talk to you about how to start writing creatively. Of course writing creatively is different from writing an essay or writing something for your job. Or writing your tax papers or whatever. Writing creatively is going to come from somewhere within you rather then outside of you. So what you need to do in order to push everything away from you that is external, as you need to become into a trance like state. What I usually like to do is put on some music but it's not, not heavily laden with words. Some sort of ambient music. That can get you into a feel of relaxation. So the key to writing creatively is feeling as though you have the time and the means to do it even if you don't. Even if you are working twelve hours a day and the only time during the day that you have to write is when you are at home right before you go to sleep. So must give yourself the feeling that you could just sit at your desk forever and write. And the way to do that is to relax yourself. You could even read something creative and inspiring before you start writing. Now you might run the danger of starting to write like that person that you just read if you do this. I know that I've experienced that kind of feeling before you know after having read a play by a certain playwright and then sitting down to write my own. I feel as though I have sort of their writing style in my brain. But at least you are writing. You know at least you have something to draw from. Something that's inspiring you. Number three have an idea of what you are going to write before you sit down to write. Sometimes you sit down to write and you don't have any idea what you are going to work on and then everything will just flow but most of the time if you sit down to write and you have no idea what you are going to work on you are not going to produce anything. So have at least a goal for your writing when you sit down to write so you are not stuck staring at an empty computer screen. And finally try to budget away some time for your writing. If you are very organized kind of person you are going to put it into your daily schedule and make that an actual priority in your life. Otherwise you might start putting it off in favor of doing other things that are not creative."
