So you love your cat and you want to give it a little bit of extra help? Hi my name is Mark Brinson, doctor of oriental medicine, physical medicine and human performance specialist. I have got a couple of cats too and I do a little acupressure with them sometimes that really seems to make them calm and help them out, not for any specific ailments but just for general health. As you are petting your cat you can give it a little stimulation on what they call the urinary bladder channel in Eastern medicine that runs right along the spine just to the left and the right like two train tracks running down the back. A lot of the channels are the same in pets as they are in humans although they differ slightly but this is one that seems to benefit both humans and pets. Now the reason that we do the urinary bladder channel is because the inside train track on the left and the right relates to every single organ system in the body so that's a good benefit. Now even better for cats especially is the outside track tends to relate to every mood or emotion that they might have so by stimulating all on the spine just in little one finger width intervals as you are petting them or holding them it can help with their overall happiness and mood and that is a good thing for all of us right?
