"So you're trying to find a little bit of help with weight loss and you think Acupressure might be the thing. Hi, my name is Dr. Mark Brinson, I'm a Physical Medicine Specialist and International Speaker. When we're talking about weight loss, Acupressure can be a good adjunct to it and I'm going to show you a couple of points. But I do want to emphasize a couple of the main things that you can do to help with weight loss, not drastic weight loss but one that takes time and is more permanent. So instead of maybe losing ten pounds a week, you lose maybe ten pounds every two months, that's going to be something that you can maintain a lot easier. One of the primary things that you want to do is almost simple sugars and eat more often. Eating about every three hours is going to stimulate your whole digestive system and it's going to cut back on the total number of calories you eat per day because your appetite is going to become less and less and less for each meal. It's also very, very good for insulin production, which is going to level your blood sugar and make sure that you don't have those cravings that are causing the overeating. Now if you do have problems with overeating and you want an Acupressure point for hunger, right in front of the triggest of the ears or right in front of the little notch of the ear, there's a point that you can stimulate with your fingertip that is good for hunger or cravings of all sorts. That's an excellent spot. And there's also a point called stomach 36, which is just below the patella or the knee cap, there's a little bump in towards the outside of the leg, there's Zusanli or stomach 36 that will stimulate the digestive system to use its calories a little bit better. But remember, eat more often, make sure that you stay low on the simple sugars, a little bit high on the protein and take care of yourself overall by drinking more water and getting plenty of rest to limit cortisol levels in the blood stream as well. My name is Dr. Mark Brinson and I wish you balance and health in your life."
