"Hi this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training in Miami, Florida. In this clip we are going to talk about what to do with a stray dog or a dog you find. Sunday here we found her and she was basically skin and bones and we wanted to help her of course we fed her. The first thing we did as soon as we could we brought her to the Humane Society where they give you discounted care and it turned out that she had heart worms so we were able to give her the heart worm treatment which may have been the reason that somebody abandoned her but at any rate she is a great dog. One of the things you always want to try to do is try to bring it to a vet or a Humane Society or Animal Control. They'll look for a microchip to see if the dog is owned by somebody or previously has an address where that is easy to find. She did have a microchip but the phone number was out of service so we brought her to the Humane Society and we decided to keep her. Those are the things that you can do when you find a stray dog. This is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training."
