Dogs are wonderful pets and companions and most dogs live with people who want them to behave in a way that makes them pleasant to be around, keeps them safe, and provides for the safety of other people and pets. Dogs do not figure out basic obedience on their own; they must be trained. Some dog breeds are typically easier to train than others but no breed is impossible to obedience train. Owners just need to be patient, reward desired behavior, correct undesired behavior and seek the advice and help of dog training experts when needed. When the dog obeys the command, it gets an reward or treat, thus reinforcing the obedience of the command. While a pet dog may not need to learn advanced skills, it should master certain commands such as come, sit and stay, and how to walk on the leash. In this free video series on dog obedience, a professional dog trainer demonstrates how to crate train a dog, how to keep it from being aggressive toward visitors and how to teach a dog to walk on a leash. Also learn how to train a dog to poop in the same place and keep from barking so much. Watch this free video series and have a well-behaved dog in no time at all.
"Hi this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training in Miami, Florida. In this clip we're going to talk about how to crate train an adult dog. Basically the same principle as crate training a puppy. You know the crate training is done so that the dog either doesn't destroy the home, doesn't pee in the home, or poop in the home and not only that, the dogs generally feel more comfortable having a den like place to go to that's their own place. Not only are they safe from the outer world, the outer world is safe from them. So in crate training the adult dog you know basically we want to feed them in the crate. We don't want to give them any soft cushioney materials in the crate because they can use those to absorb urine or feces if they do go in the crate. And feeding them in the crate where they sleep is also going to deter them from wanting to go to the bathroom in there. So they associate that positive thing with the crate. Always try to remember when you're crate training your dog don't give in to the whines. If you do you're setting yourself up and setting the dog up for failure. So this go ahead crate house in your house. I like to call it their house so there's no negative associations in my mind with it either. This has been Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg Miami Dog Training."
