"Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshop.com. And I'm going to talk about how to write a quatrain. First thing you need to know, is that a quatrain is a four lined poem. It doesn't have a specific format. It's not bound by a rhyme scheme or syllable length. Or anything like that. It's just any poem with four lines. So that makes it pretty easy for you to write a quatrain. One of the things to think about, when writing a poem. Is that a poem is an efficient form of expressing an idea or a feeling. So use your words carefully. Use words that have a lot of meaning. They're really powerful. And really express a lot. Go back to your quatrain. Read it over. And tighten it up by removing words that aren't working. Or replacing them with words that work better. Read it over and make sure that it's expressing the ideas. That you wanted it to express. And those are some important ideas about how to write a quatrain."
