"Hello welcome, my name is Julio Nutt and I'm a master instructor at the Jim McClean Golf School in Miami, Florida. In this clip I'm going to talk about how to read a green. It is very important for you to get behind the ball and see the slope of the green. It is very important to see and it is much easier to do it when you are down to the ground. For me great drill or a great exercise to read the greens especially when I don't see the break very easily would be to imagine somebody carrying a big bucket full of water and I imagine them dropping that water on the green and then I try to imagine where the ball and where the water would be dripping to. So that is going to give you a great idea of how the green is going to break. Also you are going to see the grain of the green. The grain is where the grass can be growing. The grass can be growing with your putter, against your putter, to any of the sides of the putt. If it is coming into you it is going to have a slower putt. If it is with you it is going to be faster but if it is going to one of the sides it is going to increase or decrease your break and it is really going to effect your golf ball especially when you are playing on Bermuda greens. Take into consideration these little tips and you will be a better reader of the greens and you will shoot better scores. This is Julio Nutt at the Jim McClean Golf School."
