"Hello. Welcome. My name is Julio Nutt. I'm a Master Instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School in Miami, Florida. In this clip we're going to talk about how to hit a lob shot. A lob shot is the one where the ball goes really, really high and comes down very softly into the green. Usually a high risk shot that is used only when needed. Why is a high risk shot? Because when you're trying to hit such a high shot you're going to come with the, with the club face way open and what happen is the leading edge is going to be much closer to the ball than actually the middle of the club. So it's very easy sometimes to thin the ball. To hit, to hit a thin shot and blay the shot all over the green or whatever, wherever we're hitting the shot. So what happen, what we're going to do here, I usually pit, take the club a little bit shorter. I chug down on it just a little bit. And I'm going to get closer to the ground. I don't want to play a lob shot from a straight up position. I want to get farther away from the ball. I want to put a little bit more flex from my knees. This is going to encourage more of a flatter swing. I'm going to open a little with the club face, not too much because then I put a lot of risk of hitting a thin shot. I'm just going to open a little with the club face and I'm going play that pretty much like a bunker shot. What I'm going to take my hands as, as much as I can in front of my body. I definitely don't want to get the club behind me, I want to get the club in front of me, so that I can then shift my weight and get under the ball. I'm going to hit a shot here to demonstrate. And that ball goes really high and comes down really soft. This is Julio Nutt at the Jim McLean Golf School"
