"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to set up a wireless network. To configure a wireless network, you're going to need a wireless router such as this one. You can buy this from any major computer or hardware chain. Once I've plugged in my wireless router to power, let's start by configuring it. Click on your start button, you go to the command prompt. The very first thing we want to do is find out what the IP address of the router is, just type IP config space slash all. Press enter. In this listing, you want to find your wireless LAN adaptor, and it's going to tell you the default gateway, which is one nine two one six eight dot one dot one. One dot one is what it would usually be. Let's open up our internet explorer browser and type in that IP address. The default user name and password for most routers is going to be admin admin. This is the configuration screen for my wireless network. I want to select a wireless tab, and what I'm going to show you how to do is just to select create basic security policies. Select wireless security. For security mode we want to use web and we can type in a pass phrase for our web key code, such as your name, and say generate. Your web code is going to be a password used by the PCs to connect to the wireless network. Any PCs that connect to your wireless network are going to need that password.
