"Hi, my name's Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to crop pictures using Microsoft Power Point. Sometimes you'll want to use a large picture in one of your slides for your Power Point presentation, but you might only want to use part of the picture or it might be such a large picture that it just doesn't show up well on the slide. So what I'm going to show you how to do is to how to crop that down to a smaller sized image. Let's start by launching Microsoft Office Power Point. This comes up with the default slide that Power Point comes up with. Let's go ahead and grab a large image, and I'm just going to go to insert picture from file. And on my desktop, I have an image called water lilies. I'm just going to select it and insert it. Now this is a large picture and it covers most of the slide. Let's say I only want to show this part of this water lily right here. The way you do that is to select a picture which brings up the picture tool bar. There's an icon in the middle of this picture tool bar that says, "crop". And it looks like a square triangle kind of thing with a handles on it. So just select crop and that adds these little handles to our image. Let's just grab some of these handles and drag them to what we want to show. I'm going to select only this middle lily right here. So as you can see, I'm only showing that lily and I can drag it up to the corner and it doesn't affect the rest of my presentation. I can click in here and say, "my presentation" and start my slide show. So now that water lily is only taking up a small portion of the screen and it's not interfering with the rest of my presentation. This is a, can be a very effective tool for adding a little bit of imagery to your Power Point slide, but not so much that it covers the entire thing. My name is Dave Andrews and I just showed you how to crop images using Microsoft Power Point."
