"Hi, my name is Joe, I'm in Breaktime Billiards in Wilmington, North Carolina. And I'm going to show you how to do a small masse or curve the cue ball around a object ball that's in the way. I can't make the four ball because the nine ball is in the way. So I either have to go kick or I can masse the cue ball a little bit around the nine, back to the four and make the four. Now in order to do that, I have to elevate my stick and I have to hit the side of the cue ball that I want the curve to be on. So if I want to curve it to the left, I have to hit the left side of the cue ball. So, I'm over on the left, my cue stick is elevated in the back, and all I'm going to do is hit down on the ball, and that will make the ball in the pocket around the object ball that's in the way."
