"Hello, my name is Luis Estrada and I'm a software developer. In this video I'll show you how to resize a JPEG image. I'm using Adobe Photo Shop CS2. Photo Shop is a registered trademark of Adobe. A company to which I have no affiliation. With the new digital cameras you can get very high guilty pictures that look great on your computer. However as the image resolution increase so does the file size. For example I have this car image at a resolution of one thousand six hundred pixels width by one thousand two pixels height. File size is over one megabyte. If you want o upload as dozen of these pictures to a website of send them to a e-mail. It is going to take a lot of time to do so. A good alternative is to make this JPEG image smaller. Right click on the image and select open with Adobe Photo Shop. You can control the image zoom label by using the navigator pallet. Drag the bar left to decrease the zoom level or right to increase it. To make the image smaller right click on top of the window and select image size. Now you can specify the new image size and pixels. Or as a percentage of the current size. You can see that when I change ether of the values in the field. The other one changes too. This is because I have the constraint proportions option enabled. This option maintains the proportionality between the width and height of the picture. If I deselect the option then I can freely manipulate the width and the height. I recommend you leave the option enabled. Otherwise your images might appear distorted. When ever you change a value in the fields. Notice that document size variables change as well to adjust to the new size. Once you have selected the new size press the OK button. To store this new image press on file. Save as and choose a new name for the image. Press save and choose a quality level for the new picture. Back in our folder we see the new image. With only a fraction of the file size. I'm Luis Estrada and I've just shown you how to edit your digital images."
