How to Edit a GIF File

"Hello, my name is Luis Estrada, and I am a software developer. In this video, I'll show you how to edit a GIF file. For this demonstration, I'm using PhotoShop CS Two, and Image Ready. PhotoShop and Image Ready are registered trademarks of Adobe. Here, we have a blinking Text GIF file. We can edit this GIF if we open it, in PhotoShop. As you can see, the blinking effect is gone. The original GIF image is a sequence of frames. When I open the GIF in PhotoShop, only the first frame is important. So, any animation is lost. The same thing happens if you use another application, like MS Paint. Only one frame is visible. Close the program, and also close the file in PhotoShop. If you want to edit, GIF files without loosing any frames, you should use a program like Image Ready. You can drag the file, and drop it into the application to open it. In this case, to create this effect, I used two frames that you can see in the animation window. If you click on the Play button, the animation begins. In the first one, the text is visible, and in the second one, the text is hidden. So, when the image is displayed, it appears that the text is turned on and off, repeatedly. Image Ready allows you to edit the image, in much the same way you would do it in PhotoShop. The main difference is that you edit the GIF file, frame by frame. At the end of the process, all frames are put together to form the animation. I'm Luis Estrada, and I've just shown you how to edit your digital images."
