"My name is Luis Estrada and I am a software developer. In this video I'll show you how to edit pictures for a comic book effect. I am using Adobe Photo Shop CS2. Photo Shop is a registered trademark of Adobe. A company to which I have no affiliation. Let's work with this image of Chinese children. First lets make a copy of the original image so that we can compare it at the end of the process. Go to the layers pallet, drag the back ground layer and drop it in to the create new layers button. Select the new layer to improve the brightness and contrast of the picture, click on image, adjustments, brightness and contrast. Increase the bars according to your picture. In this case the idea is to create more defined edges. That way our comic book filter will work better. Remember to enable the preview by clicking on the option box, press OK. Now lets apply a filter. Select the filter tab then artistic and poster edges. In the left column we have a preview of the image with the filter applied. In the right column we have three additional controls for the filter. The edge thickness, the edge intensity, and the posterization. Depending on the light conditions and colors of your picture, you should experiment with different values to find the best combination. In this case we will leave the values at one, six and two respectively. Press OK to apply the filter. Now click on layer visibility control to view the difference between the original image and the new layer. Now save the picture by clicking on file. Save as, choose the J peg option and click on save. Then select a quality option and click on OK. Now close the originally image. In this option you are asked if you want to save the changes or leave the original image in tact. Since we have already saved a new picture, click on no. I am Luis Estrada and I've just shown you how to edit your digital images."
