"Whether you're a father or a mother you come home from work and the child runs to you, mommy, mommy, daddy, daddy. How to put emotion into affirmation. This is Doctor Paul host of Ask Doctor Paul and author of Boomer Girls: A Boomer Woman's Guide to Men and Dating. That is the classic example that I can give you for that affirmation, putting emotion into it. It's like well that was a nice day today or wow, it was a great day today! You see the difference, do you feel it? Okay, that affirmation speaks for itself, but the emotion gives it power. Emotion gives power to affirmations, and that's what you need to put into it. Like carpe diem, okay, that's important. It's important for everyone to know what you mean when you say that, carpe diem, seize the day, you're putting the emotion into it. So when you make an affirmation with your significant other because that's where we're going, you need to put emotion into it. I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you, like you can almost taste it. Now you see? That emotion makes that affirmation really come alive. Look at that actor out there. Does he look at the actress and look at her, look at the ground, I love you. Of course not. He looks into her eyes, and glistens and says I love you, you can feel it in the voice, so that emotion is there with the affirmation. Same thing with the woman. When she just melts and says I love you, that man can feel it. So the emotion is a feeling, the affirmation is the thing. This is Doctor Paul, may your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
