"Wimps need not apply. How do you tell her you love her? Well this is Dr. Paul author of Boomer Girls, a Boomer Woman's Guide to Men and Dating and host of Ask Dr. Paul. Now there are a few things you don't want to do. First of all, as I said, wimps need not apply. You're going to tell her you love her. Do it with conviction. Don't have your hat in your hand. Don't look down at the floor. Because that means you're Mister Wimpy Wimp. Don't go there. You will never be respected. So, the way you do it, is you look at her right in the eye. You take command of the situation. Just pretend like you've been in the military. If you haven't been and you know what that command performance is. You take command, you look her in the eye and say "I love you". And then say nothing. OK? It's that power of the pause. Then listen for the response. Because I will promise you the first person who speaks is going to lose. Alright? Make sure it's not you. That person is going to respond to you. And that person has to respond to you. You win when she responds. And she wins too. It's a win win. But as I said, that person who speaks first, if it's you, loses. Alright? So you don't, don't do that. You make that powerful pause and then that's it. This is Dr. Paul. May your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
