"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to secure excel data. Let's open up Microsoft Excel, by clicking on the start button, going to all programs, Microsoft Office, and launching Excel. Now let's type some data in to here. I'm just going to enter some numbers. Let's say we want to protect these numbers from people who shouldn't be able to view them. Let's go up here to the office button, and go to save as, let's select Excel workbook. Down at the bottom under tools, just click on general options. What we're going to do is create a password to open this file. Let's create our password, and say, o.k. You're going to type your password one more time to confirm it. Now let's same our book. And show the password took affect, I'm going to close it and try to reopen it. Let's go to open, and we're going to select our workbook, and say open. As you can see, the book is protected and it requires a password to open. It's that simple to protect your data in Excel.
