"Hello, my name is Vic Schumacher, with HPE Financial Services. I'm a insurance broker representing a variety of the different insurance companies. Someone recently asked how does disability insurance work? Well, the answer is very simple. You get money. You don't really want disability insurance though, because you are now disabled. The idea is if you are anticipating some problem you might go to an insurance company and say, I would desire to have disability coverage. They'll ask you how much money would you like to have for whatever period of time. The reply could be I would, I need three thousand dollars a month. I'd like to have it last, and come in and be paid monthly for say two years, and I would like that disability insurance check to start after ninety days after I've been disabled. That is the policy, and the premium would be determined based upon that criteria. Disability insurance is nice to have if you're a workman and you lose your hand, and your income is based upon that, but it is something that you don't really want to have to utilize. Sometimes it can be expensive, but if you don't have another source of income it could be the best thing around. My name is Vic Schumacher. The company is HPE Financial Services, helping people everyday."
