When in Linz, check out the Nordico Museum. The history of the building of the Nordico Museum starts at the beginning of the seventeenth century, when it was built as the Kremsmunster Monastery House. In 1691, the monastery gave up the convent house in the city and sold the property. In 1708, the Society of Jesus acquired this property to establish the Coleggium Nordicum. This was an educational institution for Catholics from Nordic countries. Instead of a stall, the Bethlehem Church was built with a track connecting to the main building. The building was acquired by the city of Linz in 1911. The Nordico Museum was founded in 1963 by the city of Linz, as a museum dedicated to the local history. From October 2007 to March 2008, Nordico has undergone extensive renovation and modernization work.
