"Hi, Michael Burton with Michael Burton films.org located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are here talking about using Microsoft Windows. What I want to do is talk about how to create different emails user account or a new user account for your computer. Let me start out by saying Windows XP is a registered trademark of Microsoft and I am in no way affiliated with Microsoft. The reason why we create user accounts is so that upon start up, when you start up your computer, you can use to have your own user profile where you can have different settings other that another person that would have different settings that you. For example, you can have your own desktop back ground. You can have certain files on your desktop. It's basically your own personal space when your sharing a computer. Then you would basically sign in by clicking your icon and you can choose to have a password or not. Basically I am going to show you how to set that up right now. If you go down here to the start menu, most things are done through your control panels. You are going to go over here to your right hand side, go to your control panel. This is going to give you a bunch of different options. Looking at this options you can already see there is an options for the using accounts. This is where we are going to want to go. This brings up your user accounts menu. If you want to create a new one, obviously under here pick a task. You're going to want to change and existing account or create a new account. That's the one that we want to choose. Now if you look down here at the bottom, it shows that there is already a couple of different accounts. First of all, we have a guest account. We have a windows video account. That's the one that we are currently on for this video. Then we have my normal HP Administrator account which holds all my personal files and business files. What we are going to do is go through the steps of creating a new account. If we scroll up here and click on create a new account this is where it asks for type a name for new account. Lets do new account for video, that's what we'll call it and it won't let us type it all in so will do new account for vid. Alright, as it says below, this name will appear on the welcome screen and on the start menu. For example if we scroll down to out start menu on the left hand side and we click start menu you can see at the top that it says Window Video. That is the current account that we are under. Now back to our user account set up. We just named the new account new account for vid. We're going to click next to move on. This asks us to pick account type. We can do limited or computer administrator. It depends on who's using your computer. If its in a place of business and you don't want your employees to be able to access certain files, you would choose limited. Then it would give you certain options on what they could or could not get in to. I am going to go a head and create a computer administrator that means I'm giving them all access to everything. We go down here to these buttons and we are going to create an account. So now the account is created as you can see here New Account for Vid."
