"Hi, I'm Michael with michaelburtonfilms.org, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We're here talking about using Microsoft Windows. Now, I want to show you how to find your network connections on your computer. Let me start off by saying that Windows XP is a registered trademark of Microsoft and I am in no way affiliated with Microsoft. Finding the network connections on your computer is simple. You're going to go down here to the start menu on the bottom left hand corner, there's a couple of ways to do this, you can find, first of all, we can find the network connections under the control panel by scrolling up to control panel. Open your control panel menu, and if you notice, it gives you an option, if you scroll up performance and maintenance, sounds, speech, add or remove programs, network and internet connections, so go ahead and click on that. This brings up our network and internet connections menu. There's an option right down here for network connections, go ahead and click on that. Now, these are your network connections, o.k. We've got our wireless network connection, we've got our local area connection which is usually our ethernet, and then we have this other connection. So, these are our network connections. If you right click on any of these connections, for example: right click on here, you can go to properties, this gives you a lot of information about the individual connection. If you click on internet protocol, and then click on properties, this will show your IP addresses that you're currently set up with, right now it doesn't look like it's currently set up. This gives you a lot of options that are advanced for your firewall, internet connection sharing, so this is where you find all of these options for this individual connection. Now, if you were to close out of here, and you want to go to your wireless network connection, right click on that, you can, here you can view your available wireless networks, you can repair your network if it's having an issue, you can also check the same thing, you can check your interenet protocol, here in the properties. Up at the top you have a number of tabs, you have general, wireless networks and advanced, if you click on wireless networks, this shows you the different networks that are currently nearby. Right now, we only Goms family network which is our network. We can either choose to add or remove those networks, especially if you have multiples nearby that you've been signing onto, or maybe you have more than one router in your home, or your office, this is where they would be listed and you can check the properties on those, and make changes to the settings. Also, here it gives you the option to view the available networks again. Up here I have checked also to use Windows to configure my wireless network setting, that makes it a little bit easier. And, so that's basically a little bit of rundown on your network connections, and where to find them."
