"Hey guys, what's up? This is Jacob from the Skate Barn and Skate Park out in Hempstead North Carolina. Today we're going to go over a few terms that will help you talk more like a skateboarder. Some things you might often hear at your local skate park or hot skate spot. First off some things, stances on the skateboard you might hear; "switch" that's when a skateboarder's going to be riding the opposite stance of their natural position on a skateboard. Other terms you might hear, "fakie", that's also riding backwards on a skateboard, "nollie" is when you're riding and doing a trick on the nose of the skateboard. When someone lands a cool trick you might hear something like "sick" it doesn't mean you're going to get a cold, it just means hey the trick is sick, it's cool, "rad" short for radical, "that's awesome", you know anything you can to cheer on a skateboarder. Something else, make a little noise, someone lands a trick, slap the tail of your board on the ramp, whistle, holler, whatever you need to do just to encourage everyone that's skating. If you hear something as a "bust" that's no good. A bust is a place you don't want to be, a place you can get caught skateboarding and possibly get in trouble from the Law. The other term that might not so be good is "sketchy", when you land a trick and it's not quite as clean as you want it to be, or you know, something that's, someone pushes mongo, you don't want to do that either and if you don't know what mongo is, ask someone at your local park and they'll tell you what it is. But those are just a few things to get you started, help you talk like a skateboarder."
