"Hello, my name is Rebecca Herrick I'm in Everything Peaceful, here in Wilmington, North Carolina, to discuss how to give a Swedish massage. There are many different technique involve in Swedish massage, such as, effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, vibration; most of them, most of these techniques are going to be addressing muscle issues of the client, increasing range of motion, decreasing inflammation and increasing circulation back towards the heart. This can be done over the whole body. Usually the body would be addressed in sections; so for example, you might focus on one arm, then the other arm, then one leg, then the other leg. Have the client flip into a prone position, work on the back and then both legs, feet, hands, etc. Basically, always feeling for muscle adhesions and tightness, but, also, with a great focus on relaxation. And that's how you would give a Swedish massage."
