"Hello. My name's Rebbeca Herrick. I'm here at Everything Peaceful in Wilmington, North Carolina, to show you the supplies of hot stone massage. There's a few things that you definitely need. First of all you need a warmer. An oven roaster, or there's a couple different variations you can use for that. Basically, the point of this is to heat the water to about a hundred and twenty to a hundred and fifty degrees fahrenheit. The next thing you need in order to be able to see the stones is a light colored towel for the base. So, first you put the towel in. And then you would place your stones in. You can use stones of various sizes, shapes. Basalt, these black stones here. Volcanic stone from Hawaii are often used, because of their ability to maintain the temperature and hold the heat. And also because they're not very porous so they have a good slide to them. You will always want to have a slotted spoon available to take the stones out of the water with. Because the water is hot, you don't want to reach in there with your hands. And you'll also probably want to have a cool, bowl of cool water next to it, just in case you want to cool the stones off more rapidly. You might also want to have a cool towel on hand in case you want to cool your clients skin off. And that would be the supplies you need for hot stone massage."
