"Hello, my name's Rebecca Herrick, I'm here at Everything Peaceful in Wilmington, North Carolina, to show you how to give a foot massage. There's a lot of things to keep in mind when you're offering someone a foot massage. You want to always position the clients foot into where it's comfortable for you to reach. You can either work on the foot from this position or have the person laying on their back and giving a foot massage from that position, whatever is more comfortable for you and the receiver. You want to think about the muscle attachments and the muscles that make up the foot and not just go over all. You really want to have some focus in there. One of the places that's really nice to focus is at the base of the heel. This is where a lot of really tight tendons come up and attach to the bone, and you can just do little circles around the heal and focus on all those attachments. Another place you'd like to focus is on the sole of the foot on the ball of the foot. This is where most of the load of our body falls on to our, during the day. So, you'd want to focus on that area too. And everywhere in between. Don't forget about the toes, you can always do a little jostling to the foot, transverse fiction, all that kind of good stuff, basically focusing deeper than the skin. And that's how you give a foot massage."
