"Hi my name is Rebeccah Harrick I'm here at Everything Peaceful Massage Therapy center in Wilmington, North Carolina, and I'm here to discuss why to elevate the massage table. You always want your client to be in a good comfortable reach for you so that you preserve your good body mechanics, you don't ever want to be reaching too far down or have your client too high up so that your shoulders rise up and you compromise your body mechanics. So that's why it's really important to have the table height at the right location. If you have a client who is bigger, then it would be necessary for you to raise the table up or elevate the table in order to not be, not have them at an uncomfortable position for you to reach without your back being too arched or too hyper extended anything like that, where as if you have a smaller client it would be important, more important to have the table at a different height to allow for that proper body mechanics. And that's why you would elevate the massage table."
