"Knock Knock, who's there, not my period, uh oh. At some point you are going to have to tell your parents you are pregnant. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida here to tell you how to tell your parents you are pregnant. O'kay so let's get real here. Sometimes it can be good, sometimes it's not so good. Let's cover both. I'll give you an example. My father, also an OB/GYN throughout our life when we were growing up, you are never going to get pregnant unless you are married. It was kind of like an underwritten rule. Well guess what I got married I had a successful career and I was terrified to tell my father I was pregnant. But you have got to do it so I think the easiest way to do it is just to spit it out. You can do it in a cute way or in the telephone way. I always recommend you know your parents the best see how they are going to take it, most of the time they are going to be very excited for you so you could do something cute, take them to dinner, give them a card, buy them some baby booties, something like that. Now let's look to the other side. You are 16, you are accidentally pregnant, you shouldn't be and now you have to tell your parents. Well guess what you have to and it is important because you know what it is not going away, you are pregnant or not pregnant. They will eventually find out and I'll tell you if you tell them initially before it gets bad they can help you deal with the pregnancy, give you options and believe it or not you might think they'll be mad and they may be but usually your parents will give you support, remember they love you. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida telling you how to tell your parents you're pregnant."
