"Do you feel like your world is spinning? Maybe you're on a boat, or you feel like you're going to ech all over yourself? That's morning sickness. Welcome to pregnancy. I'm Dr. Jill, from Tampa, Florida, telling you how to deal with morning sickness. Not everybody gets it, but when you do, you know it. Sometimes it occurs just in the morning, sometimes throughout the entire day. My recommendation, drink and eat what you can. My baby, she was grown on Dunkin Donuts, and Lay's Potato Chips. She's doing just fine. To make a long story short, things that can trigger nausea, you really want to avoid, strong smells, cleaning agents, those things. If you avoid them, that could help. Other things like lemons, watermelon, ginger, are simple little tricks that you can use to help. Lemon heads, they're the best. If that's not working, and you're still vomiting or unable to keep things down, you need to talk to your health care provider, because you could get dehydrated, and that can be a concern. There are plenty of medications out there, including vitamins, like vitamin B6, and other medications prescribed by your physician, that will help quell that nausea. In some rare cases, you can develop what's called Hyperemesis Gravidarum, and that is, nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, but with electrolyte changes, and that can become life threatening, so you want to make sure you talk to your provider. I'm Dr. Jill. Hopefully, I told you how to ease morning sickness in pregnancy. Enjoy your pregnancy."
